Homemade vegan Nutella

Today I tried to make Nutella by myself and it went very well and into a delicious spread!

Since almost two years I don't bought Nutella in the store anymore. That's because I realised more and more what the manufacturer of Nutella does with his employees and with the ingredients. And another point was that I stopped drinking cow milk and also wanted to avoid it in other food.

I tried some alternatives like Chocoreale, a dutch vegan hazelnut spread. It is very tasty but also very expensive. So I had a look on Nutella's ingredients, which are sugar, hazelnuts, coca, vegetable fat, milk powder and soy licithin. To make it more healthier I replaced the sugar with dates and the fat with canola oil. Also I replaced the milk powder with soy milk and keep off the soy licithin (usually I don't have this in my kitchen ;-) ). I started with a handful hazelnuts and a view spoons of cocoa powder. Than added the other ingredients in small amounts. After some tasting and adding more of the ingredients I got a really good replacement for Nutella and the expansive store bought product. I'm looking forward to the breakfast tomorrow :-)

Now the hole recipe in details

Ingredients:
50 g hazelnuts
10 g cocoa
50 ml soy milk
100 ml canola oil
8 dates

Directions:
1. Grin the hazelnuts in a blender.
2. Add the cocoa to the grinded hazelnuts and blend.
3. Add soy milk and canola oil and blend again.
4. Chop the dates in really really small pieces.
6. Add the dates and blend everything is smooth and it is a solid mixture in the blender.

And the easy delicious and cheap hazelnut spread is done :-)

Fill it in a screwed and have it in the fridge for a maximum of a week.
